ISF officer hit by Resistance Brigades guard

A man from the Hezbollah-linked Resistance Brigades allegedly hit a member of the Internal Security Forces over the head with a gun Thursday in southern Lebanon, a security source informed The Daily Star. An ISF officer was on patrol in Sidon when he stationed himself by a shop near the residence and offices of Sheikh Maher Hammoud, who is head of the Union of Resistance Scholars.

The man, reportedly one of Hammoud’s security guards, asked the officer to leave, the source said, but the officer refused.
